Why Choose the Everest Base Camp, Cho La Pass and Gokyo Lakes Trek – 16 Days?

Perfect for Trekkers With Limited Time : This 16-day itinerary is designed for travelers who have limited time in Nepal but want to experience Everest Base Camp, cross Cho La Pass and explore the beautiful Gokyo Lakes in one adventure.

Experience Three Iconic Himalayan Highlights: Visit Everest Base Camp (5,364 m), cross Cho La Pass (5,420 m) and explore the stunning Gokyo Lakes, combining three famous destinations in the Everest region.

Believe in Yourself and Challenge Your Limits: If you are physically fit, have previous trekking experience and believe in your ability to complete challenging mountain days, this itinerary may suit you. However, high-altitude trekking requires proper preparation, and confidence alone cannot eliminate altitude risks.

Enjoy Spectacular Mount Everest Views: Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545 m) for breathtaking views of Mount Everest and surrounding Himalayan peaks. It is one of the most memorable highlights of the journey.

Cross the Challenging Cho La Pass: Experience the adventure of crossing Cho La Pass, a high-altitude mountain pass with dramatic glaciers, rocky trails and incredible Himalayan scenery. Snow and weather conditions can make the crossing difficult.

Discover the Beautiful Gokyo Lakes: Explore the turquoise glacial lakes surrounded by towering mountains. The peaceful Gokyo Valley offers a different atmosphere from the busy Everest Base Camp trail.

Climb Gokyo Ri for Panoramic Views: Reach Gokyo Ri (5,357 m) for magnificent views of Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu and the surrounding Himalayan landscape, depending on weather conditions.

Experience Sherpa Culture and Mountain Villages: Walk through Namche Bazaar, Tengboche and traditional Sherpa settlements, discovering local culture, Buddhist monasteries and mountain lifestyles.

A Challenging Adventure for Experienced Trekkers: This itinerary includes long trekking days, significant elevation changes and demanding high-altitude sections. Good fitness, careful acclimatization and guidance from an experienced trekking guide are essential.

Plan Your International Flights Carefully: This itinerary has no dedicated buffer days, so you should plan your international flights carefully. Flight delays between Kathmandu and Lukla can occur because of weather or operational conditions. We strongly recommend allowing extra days after the trek before your international departure, rather than booking a tight connection immediately after your scheduled return to Kathmandu.

Important note: The 16-day itinerary is a compact and demanding plan, not a guaranteed completion schedule. Cho La Pass conditions, altitude symptoms and Lukla flight delays may require changes. Your guide should be prepared to adjust the itinerary for safety, even if that means taking extra time.
